RESPITE and REFLECTION (R&R)
R&R is...
If you are caring for someone special at home, R&R may provide a special opportunity. Combining compassionate respite care and deep curiosity about what makes us who we are, I will turn a one-week visit into a once-in-a-lifetime treasure.
How it works.
Instead of formal interviews, I become part of the furniture; 8 hours a day, providing comfort, care, candid conversation.
Final product.
Recorded conversations are woven into a video tapestry;
unique, vivid, personal. Your story. Your voice.
THE PROCESS
- Step One: It begins with a planning meeting. Story elements will be outlined as well as any archival elements to be included (family photos, momentos, etc). Scheduling and respite care expectations will also be outlined.
- Step Two: R&R week will be customized, generally 5 consecutive days. I will document conversations concurrent with caregiving; the priority being focused 1:1 comfort, companionship and attention. My belief is that the quality and quantity of time together will reveal the most authentic and meaningful stories.
- Step Three: Editing will take 1-3 weeks. Should the family have suggestions, two revisions are included.
